Bristol City news and transfers recap: Wolves prepare Alex Scott offer, Pearson press conference

John Percy of the Telegraph - who's about as reliable a reporter as you can get - has detailed how Wolves are ready to make a "renewed" £20m approach for Alex Scott having been one of the more interested clubs in the 19-year-old over the January transfer window.

Wolves, along with Bournemouth, made enquiries for the City No7 but were not willing to meet the Robins valuation of £25m; a figure that is looking increasingly more realistic as the summer approaches and his stock continues to rise, plus the volume of interest grows.

Crucially for the Premier League club, two stalwarts of their centre midfield, Joao Moutinho and Ruben Neves, could leave Molineux this summer and therefore Julen Lopetegui needs to rebuild that area of the field.

A reminder, of course, that Scott is under contract until 2025 and City are under no pressure to sell, but should a game-changing offer be made, and the positive impact that could then have on the Robins recruitment, would be hard to turn down.
